I am planning to buy a new car and would appreciate your expert recommendation based on the following requirements: Budget: ₹20-22 lakh (on-road) Usage: Daily commute of around 50 km, mostly in heavy city traffic (Mumbai) Priorities: Ease of driving in city conditions and overall comfort I am open to all fuel types: petrol, diesel, or electric, but I am unsure which would be the most sustainable and cost-effective option for my usage, especially considering heavy traffic conditions.

Go for the Hyundai Creta Electric for your 50 km Mumbai commute, an EV is the easiest and most comfortable to drive while keeping running costs low. In traffic, it pulls away smoothly, feels very quiet inside, and with a rated range of 420km to 510km, depending on which battery you choose, charging requirements will be minimal.

Hi, I have been driving Maruti Suzuki Swift petrol for 17 years now and am planning to buy a new car. My yearly running would be around 5000kms with 50% driving on highway and 50% driving in Tier 1 and 2 cities. My budget is 20 lakh maximum (on-road) in Bengaluru and I plan to retain the car for 10-15 years. I am too confused on NA engine petrol car due to ethanol blending issue and am inclined towards Diesel. I have shortlisted Victoris MT, Grand Vitara MT, 3XO Diesel MT and Nexon Diesel MT. I require 360-degree car camera system and sufficient boot space. I am open to all suggestions please.

The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is a good upgrade from the Swift, and is backed by Maruti's widespread network. It is a well-rounded car, but do keep in mind, it's 1.5-petrol engine is efficient and feels adequately responsive in the city, but it can feel a bit lacklustre on the highway, especially while overtaking. You could consider a Honda Elevate. It is a practical, sensible SUV with a more powerful petrol engine. Both these vehicles should serve you well over your 10-15-year ownership period.

I am looking for an EV under Rs. 14 lakh that I plan to buy in 2027 (Q1). The car should have good range, basic features, and should be more spacious than Tata Punch but cheaper than the Windsor. Basically, I want an EV that is as spacious as Baleno/i20/Altroz. Are there any upcoming EVs in 2026 or early 2027 that might fit my budget?
