The 2026 edition of the JK Tyre-WIAA Women’s Car Rally to the Valley was flagged off on March 28 from NSCI (National Sports Club of India) in Mumbai. The event attracted over 200 participants and followed a Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) format from NSCI to the Novotel Imagicaa hotel in Khopoli. Riddhi Tanna and Rajvi Parikh were crowned the overall winners.
- The rally followed a TSD format
- Participants covered around 125km with the help of rally-style roadbooks
Organised by the Western India Automobile Association (WIAA), the Women’s Car Rally to the Valley has evolved beyond a competitive motorsport event into a platform celebrating womanhood and amplifying the urgent need for women’s safety on roads.
This year, participants decorated their cars, focusing on themes such as women’s empowerment, cancer awareness, gender equality and more. The rally followed a TSD format, with precision, consistency and teamwork taking precedence over outright speed.
Unlike conventional races, the TSD format rewards accuracy and strategic pacing. Participants navigated out of Mumbai onto the hilly roads without any GPS assistance. They covered approximately 125km with the help of rally-style roadbooks, making it as much a test of strategy and precision as of driving skill.
Riddhi Tanna and Rajvi Parikh in car number 16 were crowned the overall winners, followed by Mallika Rai, Neha Khandelwal and Gunjan Singh in car number 5. Anagha Purohit and Mridula Deshpande in car number 32 completed the top three.
“For over a decade, we have been committed to encouraging women’s participation in motorsport, and the JK Tyre-WIAA Women’s Car Rally to Valley stands as a testament to that vision. Now a marquee event, the rally celebrates the spirit of motorsport while championing important social causes. We are encouraged by the strong enthusiasm of the participants as we continue to build greater awareness around road safety,” said Srinivasu Allaphan, director – sales and marketing, JK Tyre & Industries.
