LiveWire, which originally began as the electric mobility division of Harley-Davidson before being spun off into a standalone company, has acquired American electric dirt bike startup Dust Moto. The move marks the brand’s first acquisition and signals its expansion into the electric off-road motorcycle segment.

Dust Moto was founded in 2023
LiveWire stated in its press release that it plans to advance Dust Moto’s electric dirt bike platform toward production by leveraging its own engineering resources, manufacturing scale, and global distribution network.
The acquisition also builds on LiveWire’s existing off-road presence through STACYC, which Harley-Davidson acquired in 2019.
Karim Donnez said the acquisition aligns closely with the company’s long-term strategy. “Dust Moto is a strong strategic fit and an accelerator of our vision, bringing proven off-road insight that will contribute meaningfully to LiveWire’s leadership position in electric powersports,” he said.
LiveWire also noted that it sees the electric off-road segment as a rapidly expanding category, driven by demand for high-performance motorcycles with lower noise levels, reduced maintenance requirements, and simplified operation through single-speed drivetrains.
The company plans to reveal more details about the upcoming Dust Moto-derived product range in the second half of 2026
