Honda's total production in FY25 stood at 58.6 lakh units, and production for FY26 is estimated to be close to 60 lakh units. Additionally, exports are expected to total around 6.2 lakh units in FY26. Honda sales benefit from its scooter portfolio and continue to be the market leader, but rivals such as TVS and Suzuki have been eating into its market share.

Autocar Professional reports that Honda is focusing on premiumisation with plans for locally manufactured premium motorcycles. We’d recently reported that Honda plans to add a third production line at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan and a fourth line at its Vithalapur plant in Gujarat. The Vithalapur expansion will add 6.5 lakh units annually, taking Honda's total production capacity to approximately 70 lakh units by 2027. The new Tapukara line is scheduled to commence operations in 2028 with 6.7 lakh units of annual capacity.
