Tata Punch vs Tata Altroz

We are family of 5 and living in a tier-3 city. We are planning to buy a car but are confused between Tata Altroz and Punch. I am also confused between petrol and CNG because of ethonol blending issues amidst news related e25 and e30 fuel. Our monthly running is a maximum of 500 km. Share your suggestions.

I am looking to buy a car for my family of 5 and live in a Tier-3 city. My usage is quite low, at a maximum of around 500 km per month. I am currently confused between the Tata Punch and Tata Altroz. I am also unsure whether to choose petrol or CNG, especially with the ongoing discussions around ethanol blending and the possibility of E25 and E30 petrol in the future. Given my low usage, which car and fuel option would you recommend for long-term ownership? Also, should I go ahead with the purchase now or wait for further developments regarding ethanol-blended petrol? Please consider comfort, practicality for a family of five, reliability, running costs, maintenance, and long-term ownership while suggesting the best option.

I currently own a 2021 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga petrol, which has covered around 85,000 km and delivers approximately 7-8 km/l in city driving. Due to rising fuel costs, I am considering switching to a CNG car. I plan to sell my Ertiga before buying the new car. Since my children are now in college, I no longer need a 7-seater. I am specifically looking for a CNG + AMT combination, as I am 48 years old and feel an automatic transmission would make frequent city driving less tiring. The cars I am considering are: Tata Punch Adventure S CNG AMT, Tata Altroz Creative S CNG AMT, Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXi CNG, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno Zeta CNG The Tata Punch is currently my preferred choice. I also considered the Brezza, but its lack of a proper spare wheel concerns me, as I have experienced several tyre punctures in the past. My maximum budget is Rs. 14 lakh. I am also unsure whether an EV would suit me within this budget, as I do not want to deal with range anxiety at this stage. Based on your road tests, which car would you recommend? Is the Tata Punch Adventure S CNG AMT the best choice for my requirements, or should I consider another option?

I also no longer require the Ertiga's third-row seats, as my son and daughter are now in college, so a five-seater would be sufficient for my needs. I am interested in the CNG and AMT combination, as I am 48 years old and believe an automatic transmission would make frequent city driving and traffic much less tiring. Currently, I am considering Tata Punch Adventure S CNG AMT, Tata Altroz Creative S CNG AMT, Maruti Suzuki Brezza ZXi CNG, Maruti Suzuki Brezza VXi CNG and Maruti Suzuki Baleno Zeta CNG. The Punch Adventure S CNG AMT is currently my preferred choice because it seems to offer a good balance of features, practicality and running costs. At its price, I also get more features, a CNG + AMT combination and what appears to be a very strong safety package. I was also considering the Brezza ZXi and VXi CNG, particularly for their larger size and Maruti's reputation for reliability. However, the lack of a proper spare wheel concerns me, as I have experienced tyre punctures several times. My budget is a maximum of Rs. 14 lakh. I am also unsure whether an electric car under Rs. 14 lakh would be suitable for me, as I would prefer to avoid range anxiety at this point. Based on your road tests and experience, which of these cars would you recommend? Is the Punch Adventure S CNG AMT the best choice for my requirements, or should I seriously consider one of the other options? Also, is there another car I may have overlooked?

I am confused between these options. Which one would you recommend for my requirements?
