McLaren is a British supercar maker known for lightweight engineering and Formula 1-derived technology. Founded by New Zealand racing driver Bruce McLaren in 1963, the brand officially entered India in November 2022 through retail partner Infinity Cars, which runs its first showroom in Mumbai. All McLaren cars sold in India are imported as fully built units.

The current range in India covers three very different takes on the supercar, from the plug-in hybrid Artura to the more traditional petrol-powered 750S. As per us at Autocar India, here is how the range breaks down:

• Artura: The entry point and our second-highest rated McLaren (8/10). It uses a plug-in hybrid V6 and is known for its performance and handling.
• GTS:McLaren's grand tourer, renamed from GT in 2024 and now with 626hp and a lighter body. We have yet to review it, but the outgoing GT was quick and good to drive, though expensive even by supercar standards.
• 750S: The flagship, tied with the Artura as our highest-rated McLaren (8/10). It is the brand's purely petrol-powered and most “purebred” supercar, while also having the comfiest ride of any McLaren.

These three models currently make up the McLaren cars in India, with prices ranging from Rs 5.10 crore to Rs 8.78 crore. However, McLaren car prices could change significantly with the upcoming India-UK free trade agreement. Ahead of the agreement, McLaren is reportedly preparing to cut prices by up to 38%, which could bring the GTS down to around Rs 3.83 crore and the 750S to Rs 4.94-5.46 crore. McLaren has not confirmed these price cuts yet. The Artura may also not get the same duty benefit as the petrol-powered models, since hybrids do not currently qualify for the lower tax treatment in the first five years.
