VW rolls out two lakh cars

Volkswagen has rolled out two lakh cars from its Chakan plant, and to commemorate this milestone it unveiled its first left-hand-drive Vento, which is set to be produced for export purposes to the Middle East and African countries.  Exports of the left-hand-drive Vento are set to start from the second half of 2012.

John Chacko, Volkswagen group chief representative India and president and managing director, Volkswagen India private limited, said, “Our export of the Vento to South Africa confirms that we are able to produce high quality cars in India at competitive costs. This shows our potential to further extend our export to new markets in the Middle East and African countries.”
