Volkswagen is all set to launch its Vento saloon with the 1.2 turbo petrol engine currently seen in the Polo GT TSI. But, the Vento will drop the GT badging and will be called just the Vento TSI.

The 1.2 direct injection turbo petrol engine produces 103bhp and 17.84kgm of torque. Also, the same seven-speed DSG 'box will also make its way to the Vento TSI saloon. The combination of the 1.2 motor with the DSG transmission results in an ARAI-approved fuel efficiency figure of 16.93 kpl – quite impressive for an automatic.

Volkswagen discontinued the Polo 1.6 petrol model earlier this year and launched the Polo GT TSI. But unlike that case, the Vento 1.6 manual and automatic will continue to be sold alongside the Vento TSI, which will be the flagship of the Vento line-up. As for the pricing, we expect the Vento TSI to be priced under the Rs 10 lakh mark.
