Porsche is set to launch the updated 911 model range in India on June 29. As part of the update, Porsche has introduced a new turbo-charged six-cylinder engine as standard to its line-up, while also giving all its models cosmetic and technological updates.
The carmaker has made a slew of refreshes internationally. This includes the 911 range that was updated in stages which comprised the unveiling of the facelifted versions of the 911 Carrera, Carrera 4, Targa 4 and Turbo models in coupe and convertible body styles.
The standard 911 Carreras come equipped with a new 3.0-litre twin-turbo horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine developing 370hp in its standard form and a more potent 420hp in its S guise. The same engine is carried forward into the Carrera 4 and Targa 4 models, but with the addition of all-wheel drive as standard. The more potent Turbo range though, carries forward the existing 3.8-litre turbocharged flat-six from its predecessor, but with tweaks to the motor to bump up output by about 20hp to 540hp and 580hp in its standard and S guise respectively.
Changes to the exterior include new bumpers, light clusters and active air ducts, and redesigned cooling vents. Inside the cabin, the cars get an updated PCM infotainment system with navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
The updated 911 range will continue to be imported as CBUs and crown the Porsche line-up.
