Renault has unveiled a new variant of the Duster at the Geneva motor show. The SUV will sport a new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine.

The new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine is good for 125bhp and 25.49kgm of torque, and comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. The motor will also come with start/stop and energy recuperation systems.

The Renault Duster 125 TCe is expected to replace the 2.0-litre petrol variant in international markets when it is launched in 2016.

In India, the Duster is available in a 1.6-litre petrol variant and two diesel variants featuring Renault’s K9K diesel engine generating 85bhp and 110bhp. The carmaker has made no announcement about the availability of the new turbo-petrol variant here.
