Want your Toyota Innova to stand out from the 80,000 plus Innova Crystas on Indian roads? Maybe you should consider this version of Toyota’s hugely popular MPV. It’s called the Innova Touring Sport and it is the ‘lifestyle’ version of the Innova, so to speak.

Available only in white and an exclusive ‘Wildfire Red’ paint shade, the Touring Sport is distinguishable from the Innova Crysta courtesy a host of small but effective visual modifications. At the front, the Touring Sport’s headlights get a smoked look, the grille is finished in black and the lower section features a chrome surround. There’s more of the black and chrome treatment at the lower section of the front bumper, side skirts and rear bumper, and even the wheel arches get subtle cladding. Adding some distinction at the rear is a band of gloss black plastic atop the number plate mount. Completing the look are the Touring Sport’s 16-inch alloy wheels that are unique in design and also come finished in matte black. However, the 205/65 R16 tyres are the same as the Crysta’s. Toyota has also made the switch to smaller 16-inch rims on the Innova Crysta, following feedback of tyre damage under heavy loads.

The Touring Sport’s cabin is identical to the Crysta’s, save for its use of red wood detailing, red contrast stitching and red illumination for the instruments. Note, the Innova Touring Sport is only offered in a seven-seat avatar which make use of captain chairs in the middle row. Also, mechanically, the Touring Sport is identical to the Crysta.

2017 Toyota Innova Touring Sport: a close look The Touring Sport features red contrast stitching, red illuminated dials and red wood detailing.

Here too, there are four engine-gearbox options on offer – 2.4 diesel-manual, 2.8 diesel-auto,
2.7 petrol-manual and 2.7 petrol-auto – albeit in a single top-spec trim only, with the autos boasting of a few additional goodies such as leather seats and electric adjust driver’s seats.
