Chevrolet has unveiled the new Spark (Beat for India) prior to its public debut at the New York Auto Show. Chevrolet has also showcased the new Spark at the ongoing Seoul Motor Show 2015.

The new Chevrolet Spark (Beat) is based on the Vauxhall Viva and Opel Karl city car. It gets a grille similar to the one seen on the new Cruze, along with wrap-around headlamps. It also gets prominent creases along its body lines that add to its character. The Spark retains its signature rear door handles in the C-pillars. At the back, it gets boomerang-shaped tail-lamps, along with chrome garnish above the number plate.

On the inside, the Spark loses its motorcycle-inspired instrument cluster for a more traditional set-up, and gets a more refined dashboard with white inserts running the length of the dashboard. It also gets the steering from the new Cruze, along with a new touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, there's a 1.4-litre petrol engine generating around 98bhp, mated to a five-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The company claims that the new car will be more efficient than the model it replaces.

The new Chevrolet Spark is expected to reach international showrooms by the fourth quarter of 2015.
