MG has revealed the GTS crossover, based on a CS concept that the brand unveiled at the Shanghai car show (Auto Shanghai) in 2013. MG is a British sportscar manufacturer which is owned by China's Nanjing Automobile Group. MG cars are sold primarily in China, and a few in the UK as well.

The MG GTS crossover will initially come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder unit that makes 217bhp and 35.6kgm of torque. Transmission duties are handled by a dual-clutch six-speed automatic gearbox. It is also expected to come with an all-wheel drive on-demand system. The MG GTS is capable of sprinting from 0-100kph in around a claimed 8 seconds. Later, the GTS will get MG's newly-developed GDI engines – initially a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit, followed by 1.4- and 1.5-litre engines.

Visually, the GTS has a rather narrow front grille that extends from the attractive tapering headlights. The power bulge on the bonnet and the giant lower air intake give it a shot of aggressiveness. It also has scuff plates to create a more rugged impression.
