Showcased at the Shanghai auto show this year, the Mercedes GLC Coupe concept's road-ready version was spotted testing recently.  This version holds a close resemblance to the concept car. However, there are a few changes. The intricately designed mirrors seen on the concept car are now replaced with more conventional-looking ones, along with larger lights and slightly modified front and rear bumpers.

The new GLC Coupe will most probably share the same set of engines as the concept. The engine line-up includes a 2.0-litre four-cylinder 241bhp petrol unit, which should be joined by the 3.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 developing 362bhp and 53kgm, powering the C400 and the C450 AMG Sport. The GLC Coupe is also slated to get a new 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox and 4MATIC four-wheel drive system as standard.

The test car was spotted with 21-inch alloys, which were also present on the show car at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show. The interiors are expected to be similar to the existing GLC, complete with a large central touchscreen display and the usual high-quality materials seen in the C-class.

Uli Zillmann, project leader for the GLC project, has also said that a full-blown V8 AMG version of the GLC Coupe could arrive in the future.
