Mercedes-Benz previewed the GLC Coupe concept at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year. The production version was spotted recently and it seems to have followed closely the bold design of the concept. The test mule seen sports the swooping roof line and front fascia of the GLC, albeit with a different grille. The concept shown was dimensionally larger than its rival, the BMW X4, hinting at the possibility of the production version to measure the same.

Like the GLC, the GLC Coupe too will get the same engine line-up, with the likely addition of a 362bhp twin-turbo V6 making 52.95kgm of torque in the GLC450 AMG. Putting down the power will be the new nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox and 4Matic four-wheel drive system. Officials revealed in Shanghai that the company’s SUV line-up would eventually extend to seven models with the GLA, GLC, GLC Coupe, GLE, GLE Coupe, GLS and traditional G-Class.
