McLaren will reveal a new model in mid-2015. Badged Sport Series, the car will rival the likes of the Porsce 911 and the Audi R8.

Initially codenamed P13, the Sport Series will sit below the McLaren 650S, and mark the brand’s foray into the sportscar segment. There are not too many technical details available, but the car is expected to get a carbonfibre chassis and a mid-mounted V8 engine. A version of the 650S’s carbonfibre tub is expected, albeit with some modifications. Power will, reportedly, come from a tuned down version of the company’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, churning out around 450bhp.

Until the launch though, McLaren will be teasing information about the Sport Series using the hashtag ‘#BlackSwanMoments’ on Twitter. McLaren has also released a cryptic video that compares the Sport Series to the black swan, and goes on to explain that it is a "symbol of a moment that challenges beliefs and turns thinking upside down."
