The Mahindra XUV500’s infotainment system has been updated to include a host of new connectivity features, pre-loaded apps, emergency call feature and eco-driving tips. The connectivity feature includes Android Auto, while the apps include various India-centric ones such as Gaana, Cricket Live, Zomato, BookMyShow, etc. These apps will come preloaded with the infotainment system and need not exist on the user’s smartphone; they do, however, need the help of a Wi-Fi hotspot to function properly.

The eco-driving tips come from a feature called Ecosense, where the user is given an Ecoscore for every trip based on various parameters such as speed, acceleration, idling, gear selection and braking. Ecosense data can be accessed through the infotainment system, and through Mahindra’s Bluesense app and ‘With You Hamesha’ web portal.

The emergency call feature automatically calls the emergency service and sends a text alert to two preselected numbers via a paired mobile phone in the event of deployment of airbags.

Finally, the XUV500 also gets one-touch lane-change indicators.

The above features will now be standard on the W6 variant and onwards. The W6 variant with these updated features is priced at Rs 13.8 lakh (ex-showroom, Navi Mumbai). Additionally, Mahindra has also introduced a new brown colour with black interiors for the W10 variant.
