At the upcoming 2015 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), BMW will showcase its latest technological innovations that, the company claims, will enhance and smoothen the connectivity between the driver, vehicle and environment. Highlight of BMW's presence at the CES will be the fact that it has stepped into the world of app purchasing, and become the first carmaker to allow its customers this service, right from their cars.
Using BMW’s ConnectedDrive system, users can buy apps and other services in pretty much the same way they would buy them from the Android Play Store or the Apple App Store.
The ConnectedDrive Store will be launched with services such as Online Entertainment, Concierge Services and Real Time Traffic Information from the car. The Concierge app can locate hotels, theatres, restaurants and other points of interest in surrounding areas and send the locations to the BMW’s sat-nav.
The ConnectedDrive Store is expected to launch in international markets sometime later in 2015.
