BMW has launched a special edition of the 1-series hatchback called the BMW 1-series M Performance Edition. The special edition car gets an M Accessories package that includes cosmetic features like a black front grille, rear spoiler with fins and racing stripes. There's M Performance lettering on the side sills as well.

The move is probably an attempt by the German luxury carmaker to counter its rival Mercedes's recent launch of special editions of the A- and B-class hatchbacks.

The prices for the BMW 1-series M Performance Edition are as follows:

The BMW 116i M Performance Edition: Rs 22.65 lakh

The BMW 118d M Performance Edition: Rs 25.60 lakh

The BMW 118d Sport M Performance Edition: Rs 28.55 lakh

The BMW 118d Sport Plus M Performance Edition: Rs 32.50 lakh
