Audi is likely to put the TT offroad concept into production. If it happens, it will be the third and final iteration of TT concepts that will make it to production, alongside the TT Shooting Brake and the TT Sportback.

The first of these, the TT Shooting Brake was unveiled at the Detroit show in January 2014. It was followed by the TT offroad concept at the Beijing motor show in April and finally, the TT Sportback at the Paris show in October.

Audi's technical chief Ulrich Hackenberg said at the recently concluded LA show, “All of the concepts are under analysis. We have done clinics, which have been very positive. They have shown a strong tendency for SUVs, so if we were start with one, I’d say there is the strongest chance for the SUV version.” Any one production version is likely to arrive in global markets by 2015.

The Audi TT offroad concept is a four-door compact SUV that’s powered by a plug-in hybrid drive system. It has a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that features an integrated electric motor, sending power to the front wheels. The rear wheels are powered by a second motor.
