According to early details accidentally published on the on Renault’s Dutch website, the updated Zoe hatchback will offer a claimed range of 399km – an increase of around 174km over the outgoing car.

The increase in range comes thanks to a new 41kWh battery, up from previous 22kWh one. It means the new Zoe can travel around 150km further than a Nissan Leaf on one full battery charge; although real-world driving ranges can often be less than the claimed figure.

Additionally, the information published reveals that the top-specification variant of the car produces a maximum of 90hp, with a middle specification offering 88hp and 77hp for the entry-level model. This means a more affordable version of the Zoe looks set to be added to the international line-up.

A single image that was part of the leaked release showed a car looking similar to the current Zoe, suggesting that the facelift’s most significant updates are beneath the skin. The technical details have since been removed from Renault’s Dutch media site.

The updated Renault Zoe will make its official debut at the Paris motor show tomorrow, with international sales expected to kick off next year.
