Made-in-India Volkswagen Vento heads to Argentina

To be sold in the South American market as the Polo; the sedan will be produced at VW's plant in Pune.

Volkswagen's India-made Vento has made its entry into the Argentina market and will be sold as the 'Polo'. The ‘Made-in-India’ Vento was showcased at the Buenos Aires motor show in June 2015 for the first time and . The export car will be manufactured at Volkswagen’s plant in Pune.
 
The Argentina-bound Vento will be powered by the same 104bhp 1.6-litre MPI petrol engine available on  Indian cars, while transmission options will include a five-speed manual as well as a Tiptronic, six-speed automatic gearbox. 
 
In 2011, Volkswagen India started exporting left-hand drive as well as right-hand-drive cars from its Pune plant to South Africa. Since then it has expanded its export operations to over 35 countries, spanning the four continents of Asia, Africa, North America and South America.
 
Additionally, Volkswagen India also exports parts and components of its cars to Malaysia which are assembled there for the Malaysian domestic market. Volkswagen's Pune plant has produced over 1,56,000 cars for export till date.
