During the month of March 2019, Hyundai dealers at multiple locations across India are offering discounts and benefits on a large selection of models. While some of the discounts offered are in order to clear stocks of older 2018 models, others are more of an initiative to push sales. Following is a list of the maximum discounts and benefits that can be availed on cars like the Santro, Grand i10, Xcent, i20, Verna, Elantra and Tucson.
Hyundai Grand i10
Save up to Rs 80,000
The Grand i10 has been on sale in India for a while now, though Hyundai did update the hatchback with design tweaks and more equipment in 2017. However, the model does seem slightly dated in comparison to the third-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ford Figo facelift, which will launch in India on March 15. As the next-gen Grand i10 is expected to arrive in October this year, dealers are looking to clear inventory of the model, which is one of the reasons why one can save up to Rs 80,000 on the smaller Hyundai hatchback.
Hyundai Xcent
Save up to Rs 80,000
Hyundai’s compact sedan shares its 83hp, 1.2-litre petrol and 75hp, 1.3-litre diesel engine options with its hatchback sibling. While the facelift in 2017 did bring updates to its design and equipment, it still faces stiff competition from the relatively newer Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the second-gen Honda Amaze, the recently refreshed Ford Aspire and even the smaller Tata Tigor. The next-gen Hyundai Xcent is expected to arrive in Hyundai showrooms in early 2020. In the meantime, buyers can avail total benefits of up to Rs 80,000 on the compact sedan.
Hyundai Elantra
Save up to Rs 80,000
Hyundai India’s largest sedan offering, the Elantra, will see its facelift arrive in our market in the coming months. Available with a 152hp, 2.0-litre petrol and a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel motor (both get 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options) the Elantra rivals the new Honda Civic, the Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Corolla Altis. Hyundai has announced a corporate offer of up to Rs 25,000 (only for American Express card users who book online), while select dealers are also offering benefits of up to Rs 55,000.
Hyundai Tucson
Save up to Rs 80,000
The Tucson is Hyundai’s answer to the Volkswagen Tiguan. The SUV boasts a comfortable, plush and well-kitted cabin area and a punchy 185hp diesel engine; the 155hp petrol motor isn’t as lively. There’s AWD on the top-spec diesel version too. Potential customers can now get benefits worth Rs 80,000 on the five-seat SUV; it includes the same Rs 25,000 offer that’s available with the Elantra.
Hyundai Verna
Save up to Rs 45,000
The Verna is our pick of the midsize sedans, scoring higher than rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City in terms of quality, refinement and general driving manners. There are four engine options to choose from – a 100hp, 1.4-litre petrol, a 90hp, 1.4-litre diesel, a 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol and a 128hp, 1.6-litre diesel – and top-spec versions are quite well-equipped too. Buyers can get benefits of up to Rs 45,000 on the Verna.
Hyundai i20, i20 Active
Save up to Rs 25,000
The i20 and i20 Active can now be had with exchange bonuses of up to Rs 25,000. The premium hatchback and its crossover counterpart are mechanically identical and share the same level of kit. While the i20 is one of Hyundai’s better selling models (11,749 units in January 2019), it goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Honda Jazz, and will also see competition from the upcoming Tata Altroz.
Hyundai Santro
Save up to Rs 20,000
The all-new Santro sports a roomy, well-finished cabin and is quite refined for its segment, which includes models like the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Tata Tiago. The first Hyundai model to get an AMT, the Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre engine that makes 69hp on petrol and 59hp on CNG. Hyundai dealers are offering free insurance for the first year on MY2018 Santros, in order to clear inventory.
