Porsche has just revealed the new Macan GTS Electric, which slots below the Macan Turbo Electric in the brand’s global line-up. Based on the same 800V Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture as its stablemates, the Macan GTS Electric finds rivals in the Audi Q8 e-tron Sportback, BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV.

- Colour-coordinated sporty interior with contrast stitching and carbon-fibre trim
- 100kWh battery with peak charging capacity of 270kW

GTS-specific styling cues aim to fulfil both form and function.
Making the Macan GTS Electric unique are, well, the GTS aspects of it. It sits 10mm lower than the standard Macan EV, boosting its sporty appeal. Then, there are the more aggressive front and rear bumpers with GTS-specific intakes and vents, wider side skirts, an adaptive rear spoiler and optional 22-inch RS Spyder Design alloy wheels to boot.
The Macan GTS Electric also gets tinted Matrix LED headlights and tail-lights for added sportiness. A first for this Macan EV is the Lugano Blue exterior colour, which is accompanied by two other shades: Crayon and Carmine Red. Customers can sample 60 other colours through the Porsche Car Configurator for a sense of exclusivity.

Colour-matched trim and contrast stitching are specific to the GTS.
The Porsche Macan GTS Electric’s interior maintains the sporty tone set by its exterior. Unique touches here come in the form of a GTS-specific steering wheel, door pads, centre console and dashboard – all lined in a suede-like material. There is ‘GTS’ branding on the sports seats, while the rest of this cabin features soft leather and suede upholstery, red contrast stitching and carbon-fibre inlays.
The colour-matched seatbelts, along with the GTS-specific animations and graphics found in the three high-definition screens, further enhance the sporty feel. Speaking of screens, there are dual 10.9-inch infotainment units and a 12.6-inch digital instrument panel. Other features include powered front seats, an artificial intelligence-powered voice assistant, an augmented reality head-up display, My Porsche app, and Porsche Electric Sport Sound, among others.
Porsche Macan GTS Electric powertrain and performance
0-100kph in Overboost mode with Launch Control takes just 3.8 seconds.
Powering the Porsche Macan GTS Electric is a 100kWh battery pack that energises motors mounted on the front and rear axles. The combined maximum output of these electric motors is rated at 563hp (420kW) and 955Nm of torque. For comparison, that is 53hp more than the 4S Electric but 67hp less than the range-topping Turbo Electric.
While all-wheel drive is standard, the GTS is more rear-axle biased than other Macan Electric models. It is this rear bias, along with the reworked torque vectoring system and specially tuned adaptive dampers, which could make driving the Macan GTS Electric a more involved experience.
With Launch Control enabled, the Porsche Macan GTS Electric will make the dash from a standstill to 100kph in just 3.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250kph. Meanwhile, charging the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent using a 270kW DC fast charger should reportedly take 21 minutes. According to Porsche, the maximum range is 586km (WLTP test cycle).
Porsche Macan GTS Electric India launch and price
Three variants of the Macan Electric are already on sale in India.
The entry-level Macan Electric is priced from Rs 1.22 crore, while the range-topping Turbo starts at Rs 1.73 crore (ex-showroom, India). Given that three Macan Electric variants are already on sale, Porsche could introduce the GTS variant at a later stage.
