The Majestor was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 and is expected to be positioned over the existing Gloster.

The MG Majestor will be launched on February 12, 2026, as the manufacturer’s flagship full-size SUV. Notably, the Majestor SUV was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2025 and has been spotted testing on Indian roads for quite some time.

  1. The Majestor draws heavy inspiration from the Maxus D90 available overseas
  2. It is expected to borrow the Gloster’s 216hp 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine

The MG Majestor is heavily inspired by the Maxus D90 SUV available in markets like China and Saudi Arabia. It gets a huge grille with gloss-black elements, all of which add to its aggressive looks. Beside the grille are the vertically stacked LED headlights, above which are sleek eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lamps (DRLs). The lower section of the front bumper features a rugged black cladding with silver elements in the centre, giving the Majestor a go-anywhere look.

The body cladding continues on the wheel arches and the lower portion of the Majestor’s profile. The SUV gets dual-tone 19-inch alloy wheels that look similar to those on the Gloster. Other than this, it features black door handles, black roof rails, connected LED tail-lights, a black bumper with a faux silver skid plate and exhaust tips on both sides.

While the Majestor’s cabin was not revealed at the Auto Expo, it was spied on a test mule, where it looked similar to that of the Maxus D90. Hence, the India-spec Majestor can be expected to get a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen, a similar-sized digital driver’s display and a 3-spoke steering wheel with a column-mounted drive selector stalk.

As the Majestor is likely to be positioned over the Gloster, it is expected to get some more features than the currently available 3-row SUV. For reference, the Gloster gets a panoramic sunroof, 3-zone automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, a 12-speaker sound system, a powered tailgate and heated and powered front seats, with an additional massage function for the driver’s seat.

Likely to share the Gloster’s 2-litre twin-cylinder diesel engine

The MG Majestor is likely to be powered by the 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that produces 216hp and 479Nm. On the Gloster, this engine is mated with an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox that sends power to all the wheels (4WD). The upcoming Majestor is likely to have the same setup. The same engine in the China-spec Maxus D90 produces the same power but an enhanced 500Nm of torque.

The MG Majestor is expected to be priced at a premium over the Gloster, which costs between Rs 38.33 lakh and Rs 42.49 lakh, ex-showroom, India. The Majestor will lock horns with the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian and Skoda Kodiaq
