Mercedes-Benz had upped the ante with the launch of the first BS-VI-compliant vehicle made in India, the S-class 350d. The 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel engine (Codename: OM656) that powers the S 350d uses a selective catalytic convertor filled with an AdBlue solution that limits CO2 emissions to the prescribed BS-VI levels.

At the launch of the BS-VI-compliant S 350d, Mercedes stated that the AdBlue solution will be checked and refilled when the car goes to the workshop for its scheduled service. Now Mercedes has announced that the solution will also be retailed along with its other car care products at their dealerships and workshops. So even in case the service of the car is delayed, owners can top-up the solution themselves and do their own part in keeping their city's air clean.

Interestingly, as a part of its World Water Day announcements, Mercedes has also launched ‘Quick & Clean’ – an eco-friendly car wash solution that it imports to India from Germany. Moreover, Mercedes will also give an option of a waterless car wash to its customers when the car is sent to the workshop for servicing.
