Mercedes-Benz has taken the covers off its last V12-powered S-class, the S 65 Final Edition. Limited to just 130 units worldwide, the Final Edition will be finished exclusively in Obsidian black metallic paint and get copper and carbon fibre accents.

On the outside, the 20-inch multi-spoke alloys, front air intakes, side skirts and rear diffuser are all finished in a special matte bronze shade. A C-pillar-mounted AMG crest and blacked-out quad exhaust tips complete the look. Inside, the black and bronze theme continues. Black nappa leather upholstery with copper stitching, carbon-fibre trim with black and copper threads, copper-coloured ambient lighting and floor mats with copper-coloured contrast stitching are all part of the package. A '1 of 130' badge is placed on the centre console, confirming the car’s limited-edition status.

Powering the S 65 Final Edition is AMG’s mighty 6.0-litre bi-turbo V12 petrol engine. It produces 630hp and 1000Nm of peak torque. In true AMG fashion, there’s the 'One Man – One Engine' plaque in the engine bay but, this time around, it is finished in gloss black instead of silver.

The S 65 Final Edition will make its debut at the 2019 Geneva motor show alongside another final edition model – the convertible Mercedes SLC Final Edition. A chief rival to the S 65 AMG is BMW’s M 760 Li sedan which also features a twin-turbo V12 engine.
