Jaguar has revealed the creation of its Special Vehicle Operations division, the F-Type SVR. Based on the F-Type R, the SVR is the most powerful and the fastest iteration of the F-Type sportscar from the English automaker.
Details of the model had been leaked earlier this year with technical details for the car surfacing on the web. As per the information leaked, the car was to be equipped with a 567bhp 5.0-litre supercharged V8 along with being lighter and faster than the car it was based on . It was to be available in coupé and convertible body styles.
Now official details of the car have confirmed the power output and body styles along with providing a claimed 0-100kph time of 3.5 seconds. The coupé is claimed to reach a top speed of 321.8kph while the convertible version gets a top speed of 313kph.
The aerodynamics package on the SVR is an uprated version of the one used on the F-Type R with a more aggressive front bumper, active rear wing and a flat underfloor.
The chassis has been tweaked, with new dampers and anti-roll bars added and stiffer rear knuckles fitted, while wider tyres wrap around lightweight 20-inch forged alloy wheels. Carbon-ceramic brakes provide stopping power. The car has also been given a new titanium exhaust.
As part of the upgrades, the car also gets a recalibrated eight-speed automatic gearbox, and the all-wheel drive, torque vectoring, adaptive dynamic, power steering and stability control systems.
The F-Type SVR will make its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
