Hyundai has teased a pair of new concepts dubbed ‘Earth’ and ‘Venus’, which look to preview an all-new design language for the carmaker’s Ioniq line of EVs. A countdown to April 10 for an "Ioniq Brand Launch" recently cropped up on Hyundai’s official China website, suggesting that the Earth and Venus concepts could be unveiled on that date.

Rakish and futuristic styling

Per the teasers Hyundai posted on social media, the silver car is the Earth concept. The most prominent design highlight in the Earth concept’s teaser is a disjointed Y-shaped LED arrangement up front, which looks somewhat inspired by that of the Lamborghini Revuelto.

This lighting setup extends all the way up the Tesla Cybertruck-esque short bonnet, at the top of which lies a recessed section where the windscreen (which is rather long) begins. Other styling elements of note include angular panelling on the front fender, and the slight bit of body cladding above the squared-off wheel arch indicates that the Earth concept may sport an SUV form factor.

Coming to the gold-coloured Venus concept, the teaser partly shows off its rear end, which features similar angular panelling to the Earth concept, though the rounded wheel arch implies a sleeker body style. The Venus concept also has a fastback-like roofline, black bootlid spoiler, slim horizontal LED tail-lamps, and what looks to be a pronounced rear bumper.
