The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N has been revealed at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed, where it also made its dynamic debut, joining other Hyundai N models on the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb. The brand’s second performance EV is claimed to offer better handling than the first, the Ioniq 5 N, which was revealed in 2023. The two N division EVs share the 650hp AWD powertrain, but the Ioniq 6 N is also said to be quicker.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is 0.2 seconds quicker to 100kph than Ioniq 5 N
As mentioned above, the two N division EVs share the 84kWh battery, though the Ioniq 6 gets a 7kWh coolant heater to bring the battery to optimal operating temperature. And while both also share the 238hp front and the 412hp rear motors – combined max output is the same 650hp and 770Nm – the Ioniq 6 has new motor magnets and a claimed 0-100kph time of 3.2 seconds; 0.2 seconds quicker than the Ioniq 5 N. The top speed is up to 257kph.
The AWD performance EV is also equipped with electronically controlled dampers, an electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential, and it has a lower centre of gravity than the 5 N. All the software seen on the 5 N is available on the Ioniq 6 N as well, from the ‘N Grip Boost’ button that releases the full 650hp, to the drift modes (said to be enhanced), artificial engine sounds and gearshift points.

Along with the lower centre of gravity, another aspect that is said to make it a better handling car than the 5 N is that the track width has increased by 60mm; the Ioniq 6 N gets wider wheel arches than the facelift revealed in April. Other differences between the full-blown N model and the standard Ioniq 6 include a lowered nose with a larger front mesh grille, N-specific winglets to channel air along the body side, and a large rear spoiler that is said to balance the car’s aerodynamics in combination with the front splitter. There are also new-design 20-inch alloys shod in 275/35R20 Pirelli P Zero tyres.
On the inside, the N version has the same layout and design as the standard Ioniq 6, but it’s all finished in black and grey.
There’s no word on Hyundai bringing the Ioniq 6 N to India. The brand did showcase the pre-facelift Ioniq 6 at the Auto Expo 2023 to gauge response, but had not announced plans to introduce it at any point.
