Fiat has taken the wraps off of the facelifted 500. The facelifted car gets styling tweaks to its interior and exterior along with minor engine modifications to conform to the latest emission standards in Europe.

The front and rear of the Fiat 500 sport minor alterations. The front grille is now larger and is flanked by strips of chrome. The main headlamp units get a steeper slant while the lower lights get LED DRLs styled to look like the zero in the ‘500’ badge. At the back the tail-lamps have been revised, while the fog lamps and reversing lights have been shifted to the bottom of the bumper. Other exterior changes include new 15 or 16-inch alloy wheels and added shades of paint.

Inside, the company’s UConnect infotainment system is standard on all models, but only the top trim gets a touchscreen. The system is placed lower here, than in the previous model and offers USB, aux and Bluetooth connectivity as standard. The top trim is also equipped with the Fiat’s UConnect Live services allowing the system to connect with smartphones and access internet- based services and satellite navigation.

The steering wheel, which is also new, features chrome-plated edging, while in the top-spec model the instrument cluster is replaced by a 7-inch display. Other changes include added choice of upholstery colours and improved sound deadening.

Under the hood, the facelifted car gets minor tweaks made to the engine, allowing it to conform with the latest emission standards in Europe. The 0.9-litre TwinAir, 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel have all been tweaked to conform to Euro 6 emission norms.
