Benelli bikes in India (4)

Benelli’s current portfolio revolves around 500cc twin-cylinder motorcycles, with the Leoncino 500 serving as the road-focused scrambler, the 502C as the cruiser, and the TRK 502/502X aimed at touring and adventure riding. All four motorcycles use a 500cc parallel-twin engine, but their riding positions and intended uses are quite different. That makes Benelli a relatively niche choice for Indian buyers who want a larger-capacity, distinctive motorcycle without moving into the litre-class segment.

Which Benelli Bike Should You Buy?

The biggest differentiator of the current Benelli range is that all four motorcycles use a 500cc twin-cylinder platform. The engine produces 46Nm in the India-spec motorcycles and is paired with a six-speed gearbox. This means buyers are choosing between different motorcycle formats rather than different engine sizes.

Why Purchase Benelli Bikes in India?

Leoncino 500

If you want a relatively compact 500cc motorcycle with scrambler styling and mainly ride on paved roads. It uses the same basic 500cc twin-cylinder motor as the other Benellis, but has a more conventional road-bike format.

502C

If your priority is a low-slung cruiser riding position and distinctive styling. Its 760mm seat height is considerably lower than the TRK 502's 835mm, although its 220kg kerb weight means it is still a substantial motorcycle.

TRK 502

If you primarily want a highway and touring motorcycle. It gets a 20-litre fuel tank, upright ergonomics and road-oriented 17-inch alloy wheels. The 2025 version also gained features such as heated grips, a heated seat and a 5-inch TFT with offline navigation and smartphone connectivity.

TRK 502X

If you want the TRK concept with greater emphasis on rough roads and adventure riding. It gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked-wheel setup, making it the more appropriate option for buyers who expect to leave the tarmac occasionally.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Benelli Bike

  • You are buying into a niche 500cc range: there isn't a small-capacity Benelli currently on sale in India, so the entry point is above Rs.5 lakh.
  • Weight matters: These are sizeable motorcycles, with the TRK 502 weighing 210kg and the 502C listed at 220kg.
  • The TRK 502X is not simply a taller TRK: Its 19-inch front wheel and spoked wheels make it better suited to rougher surfaces than the road-oriented TRK 502.
  • Running costs should be considered alongside purchase price: Buyers should check local service availability, maintenance costs and parts availability before committing, particularly because Benelli has a much smaller footprint than brands such as Royal Enfield, KTM or Triumph.
  • The 500cc twin is the common thread: If you specifically want a twin-cylinder motorcycle with a distinctive exhaust note and substantial road presence, Benelli's current range is built around that proposition.

Benelli Bikes - FAQs

There are 4 Benelli bikes that are available for sale in India - Leoncino 500, 502C, TRK 502, and TRK 502X.

No. There are no Benelli bikes under 250cc or 300cc. The entire lineup uses a 500cc engine.

The Leoncino 500 is currently the most affordable, starting at Rs.5.60 lakh ex-showroom.

The TRK 502 is the road-focused touring option, while the TRK 502X makes more sense if your touring includes rough roads and unpaved sections.

The 502C has the lowest seat height at 760mm. The TRK 502, at 835mm, requires considerably more reach to the ground.

The Leoncino 500 is the more natural choice if you want a conventional road motorcycle. The 502C can work for city riding too, particularly if you prefer a cruiser-style riding position.

It is the more adventure-oriented motorcycle in the range, with a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear spoke-wheel setup. However, it remains a large 500cc adventure tourer rather than a lightweight enduro.
