Yamaha Ténéré 4 Concept: What we know

The Ténéré 4 will slot below the Ténéré 700 if it goes into production

The Ténéré 4 Concept is powered by an all-new single-cylinder engine, but Yamaha hasn’t shared any specifics beyond saying that it has been tuned to deliver strong low- to mid-range torque. Based on its name, the engine is likely to be around the 400cc mark.

The concept uses a newly developed frame and gets KYB suspension at both ends. It rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels shod with Michelin Anakee Wild tyres. It also gets a titanium Akrapovič exhaust, which will likely be offered as an optional accessory if the bike reaches production. The Ténéré 4 Concept has a flat, low fuel tank and a narrow profile inspired by rally bikes. Yamaha says its design has been developed using experience gained from the Ténéré 700. With this smaller Ténéré 4, the brand aims to give less experienced riders an entry point into its adventure bike line-up, offering a less intimidating form factor and more accessible performance.

Yamaha hasn’t confirmed if or when the Ténéré 4 Concept will enter production. However, it would make for an interesting proposition alongside existing rivals such as the KTM 390 Adventure R and CFMoto Ibex 450 (450MT).
