Prices of Suzuki’s other big bikes, including the V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8R, have also risen.

With the discontinuation of the Katana, Suzuki’s big bike portfolio in India now comprises the Hayabusa, V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8R, all of which fall under the revised tax structure and face increased pricing.

  1. Hayabusa was the bestselling bike in the 1,000-1,600cc segment in FY25
  2. V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8R also affected by the revised GST rates

As the most expensive model in Suzuki’s Indian portfolio, the Hayabusa is the most significantly affected by the GST revision. Its price has gone up by Rs 1.16 lakh – from Rs 16.90 lakh to Rs 18.06 lakh.

Last year was a landmark for the iconic bike, with 511 units sold in FY2025 – the highest ever in India since its debut. The Hayabusa also dominates the 1,000-1,600cc segment, holding a 57 percent market share in FY25. However, the revised GST rates and price hike could slow down this growth in the current financial year.

The V-Strom 800DE and GSX-8R have also seen price increases, though not as steep as the Hayabusa’s. The V-Strom is now priced at Rs 11.01 lakh, up by Rs 71,000, while the Gixxer’s pricing has increased by Rs 64,000 to Rs 9.89 lakh.

Earlier this year, all three bikes were updated to comply with the OBD2B emissions regulations; however, the update did not bring about major changes or a price hike at that time.
