Suzuki outsells Honda and Yamaha in e-scooters in 2026

Suzuki has emerged as the bestselling Japanese electric scooter brand in the first four months of 2026, ahead of Honda and Yamaha.

Despite entering India’s electric two-wheeler market later than homegrown manufacturers such as TVS Motor Company, Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp, the three Japanese brands have collectively sold 3,971 units between January and April 2026. Suzuki currently leads among Japanese players, accounting for 57 percent of their combined wholesale volumes and 50 percent of retail sales during this period.

Between January and April this year, Suzuki dispatched 2,261 units of the Suzuki e-Access from its Gurugram facility, while retail deliveries stood at 1,161 units.

That figure is notably higher than what Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India managed in the same period, with a combined 1,284 units dispatched for the Activa e: and QC1. Retail sales for the two models stood at 1,039 units during the same timeframe.

Yamaha, which launched the EC-06 in February this year, has dispatched 426 units over the past three months, with retail deliveries currently at 140 units. That said, the EC-06 is currently sold only in select cities across a few states. As Yamaha expands availability, sales volumes are likely to increase.
