When a manufacturer names it motorcycle after its official racetrack, it’s bound to be special. And that’s exactly what the new Suzuki GSX-R1000R Ryuyo is.

Named after the 6.5km Suzuki test track facility on the outskirts of Hamamatsu, the Ryuyo is the most powerful production motorcycle from Japanese brand to have gone on sale yet. Built by Suzuki Moto Italia, production of the track-only motorcycle is limited to just 20 units and it is priced at the equivalent of Rs 25.74 lakh apiece. The new motorcycle will make its official debut at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy, later this year.

Suzuki hasn’t shared complete details about the new motorcycle, but did mention that the litre-class bike produces 212hp at 12,900rpm (10 hp more than the standard bike) and 125Nm of peak torque. Carbon fibre has been used extensively for most body panels and the end result is a dry weight of just 168kg.

Other interesting goodies on the Suzuki GSX-R1000R Ryuyo include a titanium Yoshimura R-11 exhaust system, Öhlins TTX GP monoshock, Showa BFF USD fork with Öhlins NIX 30 internals and top-shelf Brembo braking hardware.

More details of the Suzuki GSX-R1000R Ryuyo will be shared at its global unveil in at the 2018 EICMA motorcycle show. Given the limited-production run, the track-spec machine is likely to be sold only in Europe.
