Bajaj has launched the new generation Pulsar, called the Pulsar 135LS.

The Pulsar 135LS (Light Sports), powered by a 135cc 4-valve DTS-i engine, delivers 13.3bhp of power and a max of 1.12kgm of torque. The light kerb weight of 122 kg gives it a better power-to-weight ratio of 109bhp/tonne and this helps the bike to deliver performance in the range of the 150cc bikes.

The seating position of the Pulsar 135 feels a bit super-moto style with the arms stretched straight out to the clip-ons, while the rider sits fairly upright. The position has been designed keeping in mind the 135LS's sporty, yet city riding focus.

The Pulsar 135 LS's chassis is based on the rectangular box section frame of the XCD. As a result the Pulsar 135 LS feels remarkably firm and sharp when cornering, its light weight comes handy again over here. The 4-valve head gives it a rev-happy nature and some of the intake roar and rumble that was typical of Pulsars in the midrange has been cleaned up. The all new 135 4-valve engine feels rough only above 9500rpm.

The new Pulsar also comes with aggressive styling, a sporty split-seat, aluminum clip-on handlebars, gas charged Nitrox shock absorbers and digital display console.

It is also equipped with a 240mm disc brake up front and the electronics now work on Direct Current (DC).

The Pulsar 135LS will retail at Rs 51,000 (ex showroom Delhi).
