Mahindra & Mahindra is gradually expanding its operation of lending a helping hand to the countrywide effort of combating the spread of the novel coronavirus. The latest news is that the company's two-wheeler manufacturing plant at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, which rolls out the Jawa brand of motorcycles, has begun assembling face shields.

This was confirmed in a tweet yesterday by Prakash Wakankar, who is in charge of the Mahindra Group's International Operations for Farm Equipment and Global Two-Wheeler Business.

With this, the company has increased its volume of assembled face shields. One may recollect that M&M began assembling face shields in March at its Kandivali plant in Mumbai, Maharashtra. These face shields, developed from a design sourced from the Ford Motor Corporation, fully block the face and eyes from accidental contact with liquids.

The ongoing Mahindra and Ford collaborative effort is a good example of a set of automotive industry alliance partners contributing to the fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
