Intents Go is working towards launching a maps application that’ll offer alerts for potholes, waterlogging, traffic, blockades, speed cameras and more.

  • Intents Go Beta now available on Google Play Store.

  • It claims to identify around 9,000 new potholes/speed breakers daily.

  • The company is said to have 2 lakh scouts.

Intents Go started as a personal project a couple of years ago, but it started making serious progress from February this year. The team is split between Gurgaon and Coimbatore and the application only just made its debut in Beta form. This application promises to offer alerts for potholes, waterlogging, traffic, blockades, speed cameras and more.

The company has said that data about road conditions and incidents are updated in real time. It does this through its growing network of 2 lakh scouts that use their phone sensors to map the roads. Anyone can become a scout for the application simply by downloading and starting to use it. The company tells us that its scouts majorly include cab drivers, truckers, delivery agents and other people who are often on the road. Intents Go says that it rewards them for the distance they cover.

While the application is quite far from ready, Intents Go has already claimed to have mapped 20 lakh kilometers. Now that the number of scouts has risen to the 2 lakh mark, the company claims that its mapped data increases by 1.5 lakh kilometers daily. Intents Go has also said that it has identified over 1.85 lakh potholes and speed bumps, and is currently identifying around 9,000 new ones daily. Since it is a real time system, the company also knows how many of these potholes are getting repaired and that number stands at around 4,500 each day.

Intents Go says that it doesn’t collect data from users and doesn’t even require a user account. The company has added that it’s application will evolve into a full-fledged map app in the next few months. Click here to give the Intents Go application a try.
