Indian Motorcycle has unveiled a new bagger called the Pursuit, which is based on the Indian Challenger.

The newest addition to Indian's bagger family of motorcycles, the Pursuit, comes with a whole host of bells and whistles. To begin with, the motorcycles’ silhouette is dominated by the large chassis-mounted front fairing, adjustable air vents and power-adjustable windshield. Also, true to its bagger nature, the Pursuit gets a hard-shell storage on either side of the motorcycle as well as a large top box with a pillion backrest.

Adding to the comfort is a large 7-inch infotainment system with navigation, weather tracking, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with heated grips and seats for both riders and pillion available with the premium package.

The Indian Pursuit is powered by a 122hp, 173Nm, 1,768 cc V-Twin engine that comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Pursuit has a massive 1,669 mm wheelbase and is suspended with USD forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, with the latter being adjustable for preload remotely through the infotainment screen. It also has a very accessible seat height of 672mm and a ground clearance of 137 mm, though the 398kg kerb weight is more daunting.

Stopping all that weight are dual 320mm front rotors bitten by 4-piston radial calipers and a single 298mm rotor with a 2-piston caliper at the rear.

The Indian Pursuit is offered in two trim levels – Limited and Dark Horse – both of which can be optioned with a Premium package. The range begins with the Limited at $29,999 (around Rs 22 lakh), with the blacked-out Dark Horse being priced at $30,999 (around Rs 23 lakh). The premium package includes auxiliary lights in the lower fairings, heated touring seats, electronically adjustable rear suspension for preload and smart lean technology for an additional $3,000 (Rs 2,2 lakh).
