Honda recently launched the CB1000 Hornet SP in India and has now issued a voluntary recall for some units that were produced in 2025.

1. Honda has issued a voluntary recall for a potential hazard that could affect gear shifting
2. CB1000 Hornet SP owners can enter the VIN on Honda’s website to check if their unit is affected

Honda Topline dealerships to contact owners

Topline dealerships will begin taking bikes in for inspection starting today

Aligned with Honda’s global market action, the company has announced a voluntary recall for the CB1000 Hornet SP. Honda says this is due to the heat from the exhaust causing part of the seat’s painted surface to soften, resulting in the gear change pedal pivot likely loosening. If the bolt becomes loose due to this heat-related softening, it can fall off while riding, which may lead to problems while shifting gears.

As a preventive measure, Honda will be individually contacting owners to notify them about this potential issue and to take their vehicles in for inspection. Additionally, customers can check if their vehicle falls under this campaign by submitting their 17-digit VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on Honda’s website. The replacement of the affected parts will be carried out at BigWing Topline dealerships across India starting in January 2026.
