Will aim to add 1000 new outlets in India in the next year

At its Annual Business meet in Tokyo, Japan, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India Pvt Ltd announced an aggressive strategy for FY 2014-15. Starting June this year, HMSI intends to add a whopping 1000 outlets in India alone, which translates to almost three new outlets each day as part of a programme the company is calling a 'New Era'.

Y S Guleria, vice president, sales and marketing, HMSI said, “Reaching closer to customers is a priority. Moving full throttle with scorching pace, Honda will add 1000 new touch-points to its network. This translates to adding a phenomenal three outlets each day. Honda will double its network in just two years from 1950 outlets in FY 2012-13 to 3800 outlets by end of FY 2014-15.”

The company intends to add more products to have a stronger portfolio, with two all-new two-wheelers being prepped for a 2015 launch. Another target is achieving sales of 45 lakh units by sustaining a growth rate of 21 percent.

Takanobu Ito, president, CEO & representative director, Honda Motor Company, Japan said, “You can expect enhanced level of support from Honda Motor Company, Japan at all levels. Together, we will unleash a New Era of Honda progression and customer satisfaction in India.”
