Ahead of its official launch on August 29, Hero MotoCorp has teased the new Karizma XMR 210. While the teaser is just a silhouette image of the motorcycle, it does reveal some key details about the new Karizma.

  1. New Karizma gets fairing-mounted mirrors and clip-ons
  2. Likely to feature all-LED lighting and dual-channel ABS

Hero Karizma XMR: what does the teaser reveal?

The new Karizma XMR has been spied testing previously, seen in patent images and revealed to dealer partners at an event, so we have a fair idea of what to expect from it. The teaser image confirms that the new Karizma will have a sharp-looking fairing, a substantial windscreen and the mirrors will be mounted on the fairing itself rather than on the handlebar like on Hero’s other faired bike, the Xtreme 200S.

Other details that can be seen are a clip-on handlebar, a muscular fuel tank, a split-seat arrangement and what appear to be ducts under the pillion seat in the tail section.

Hero Karizma XMR: more details

While it can’t be seen in the images, expect the new Hero Karizma XMR 210 to be powered by an all-new, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. Details remain scarce but expect it to come paired with a 6-speed gearbox and around 210cc in displacement, as the name suggests.

Of other things, expect the Karizma XMR to get all-LED lighting, a telescopic fork up front, a monoshock at the rear and dual-channel ABS (a Hero first).

Hero tends to price its products aggressively, and hence we expect the new Karizma XMR to be positioned around the Rs 1.8 lakh mark (ex-showroom). Once launched, the Hero Karizma XMR will rival the hugely popular Yamaha R15 V4 (Rs 1.81 lakh-1.94 lakh) and the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 (Rs 1.92 lakh-2.02 lakh). Although it is likely to be more of a sports tourer in nature which will differentiate it from the Yamaha.
