Harley-Davidson has issued a recall in the US that could affect up to 16,994 motorcycles due to a potential rear brake failure risk. The recall has been flagged by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the US.

There is no confirmation of this recall affecting bikes in India
According to the recall notice, the rear brake line may come into contact with the Body Control Module (BCM), which could cause wear in the brake line, leading to a brake fluid leak and eventual loss of rear braking performance.
To fix the issue, Harley-Davidson dealers will replace the BCM and related hardware and inspect the rear brake line. If any damage is found, the brake line and associated components will be replaced free of cost.
The affected models include the Heritage Classic, Street Bob, Low Rider S and Low Rider ST, all part of Harley-Davidson’s Softail range.
Owner notifications in the US are expected to begin on May 18. As of now, there is no confirmation on this recall affecting bikes in India or other international markets.
