Harley-Davidson India has announced its entry into the pre-owned motorcycle segment. Dubbed Harley-Davidson Originals, it will be offered across most dealerships of the American brand across the country. The company has already been trying this concept out at some of its dealerships and given the positive response generated, it has gone ahead with this new initiative.
The pre-owned motorcycles come with a 99-point quality check assurance conducted by its experts. All the motorcycles are offered with an official Harley-Davidson one-year warranty as standard. Customers also have the option to extend the warranty by two or three years, depending on their preferences. Harley-Davidson Originals owners are also eligible to join the Harley Owners Group (HOG), which is considered to be the largest motorcycle owners group in the world, with close to 1 million members in its fold.
The new initiative should make owning pre-owned Harley-Davidson motorcycles a hassle-free affair as the manufacturer itself is associated with the process. The current Harley-Davidson product portfolio in India starts with the Street 750, which is priced at Rs 5.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Earlier this year, Royal Enfield also launched its first pre-owned motorcycle store in Chennai. The Royal Enfield 'Vintage' store is part of a new format that will deal only in pre-owned, refurbished and restored motorcycles. It is designed for existing and potential Royal Enfield customers looking for quality-tested and certified pre-owned options.
