Bike and scooter sales on the upswing in March 2026

Sales numbers for the top companies in the Indian two-wheeler industry have come out for the final month of FY26 and here’s how each heavyweight performed.

Hero: 5,52,505 units

Hero maintained its usual position at the top of the pile and did so while recording a 6.87 percent increase over its February 2026 sales number (5,16,968 units). On a year-on-year basis, the brand reported a 9.05 percent increase from 5,06,641 units. It exported 45,693 units in March 2026, up from 41,248 in February.

Honda: 5,12,303 units

Honda was in its usual number two spot and reported a 0.17 percent month-on-month dip from 5,13,190 units. However, compared to March 2025’s 4,01,411 units, its sales surged 27.63 percent. The company exported 36,842 units in March, a sizable drop from 54,161 units in the preceding month.

Honda recently announced that it is looking to expand its off-road bike line-up in India and focus more on off-road racing in the country.

TVS: 3,72,383 units

Hosur-based TVS reported a small 1.90 percent increase over its February 2026 numbers (3,65,471 units). But compared to March 2025 (2,97,622 units), sales soared 25.12 percent. The company exported 1,25,751 units, which is a drop from 1,42,391 units in February 2026.

The design of the Norton Manx R V4 superbike has been patented in India, which signals that the TVS-owned brand is inching closer to a market launch.

Bajaj: 2,21,021 units

Bajaj has breached the 2 lakh unit mark in domestic sales after a bit of a hiatus, reporting a healthy 18.72 percent increase over February 2026’s 1,86,164 units. Bajaj also posted a sizeable 20.34 percent increase in comparison to its March 2025 tally of 1,83,659 units. Bajaj is India’s largest two-wheeler exporter, and it shipped 1,59,452 units last month, which was quite a drop from 1,93,757 units in February.

The company recently relaunched the Pulsar 180 and is gearing up to revamp all of the Classic Pulsar models later this year.

Suzuki: 1,05,397 units

Suzuki, which has been consistently posting six-figure monthly sales of late, recorded a 4.30 percent month-on-month increase in sales (February 2026: 1,01,071 units). On a year-on-year basis, sales slipped 0.32 percent from 1,05,736 units. Suzuki exported 22,830 units last month, which was a small increase compared to the 22,228 units in February.

Royal Enfield: 1,00,406 units

Royal Enfield, too, reported sales of over 1 lakh units last month, up 10 percent from 91,248 units in February 2026 and 14.03 percent from 88,050 units in March 2025. Its export business also reported healthy growth, rising to 11,928 units last month from 9,657 in February.

The company recently launched its first electric bike, the C6, under the Flying Flea banner, though currently it is only available in Bengaluru.
