Ducati India has teased the launch of the final model in its 950 range, the Hypermotard 950. Earlier this year, the bike received a Euro 5 update for its 937cc Testastretta engine, which it shares with the Multistrada 950 (now the Multistrada V2), Monster and SuperSport 950. Despite cleaning up tailpipe emissions, the Hype retains its 114hp and 96Nm output figures.

Other changes for the 2022 model year include gearbox revisions: tweaks to the selector drum and the dogs for fifth and sixth gears. Overseas, the Multistrada is sold in a base version and a higher-spec SP version with longer-travel Öhlins suspension, forged Marchesini wheels and a standard quickshifter (optional extra on the base variant).
The price gap between the two variants in overseas markets translates to around Rs 3.5 lakh, so the SP may not make its way to India. The base variant is expected to launch very soon at around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom). It may miss out on the SP’s fancy kit, but it’s still a well-equipped motorcycle in its own right, coming with IMU-backed electronics that include wheelie control, traction control and cornering ABS. It also gets three riding modes: Sport, Touring and Urban, all of which are fully customisable.
