Suzuki expanded its performance bike range by launching the new GSX-S750 in India and as we had predicted, Suzuki's latest offering has been priced at Rs 7.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is the manufacturer's second motorcycle after the Suzuki Hayabusa to be locally assembled.

The GSX-S750 is a middleweight street bike and was first showcased to Indian audiences at the 2018 Auto Expo. Bookings for the motorcycle have commenced at all Suzuki Big Bikes dealerships across India and the first batch is expected to be delivered next month. It will be offered in two colour options – Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Sparkle Black and Glass Sparkle Black/Candy Daring Red.

In terms of styling, the new Suzuki offering looks like a scaled-down version of the Suzuki GSX-S1000 – and it does look aggressive. The bike sports an all-digital LCD instrument console and features a three-level traction control (which can be switched off, completely). Powering the motorcycle is a 749cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, in-line, four-cylinder motor that makes 114hp at 10,500rpm and 81Nm of torque at 9,000rpm. Power is transmitted via a six-speed gearbox.

The GSX-S750 features 41mm KYB inverted forks up front with adjustable preload and compression. The rear monoshock is also a KYB unit, but it’s only preload adjustable. The 17-inch alloy wheels come shod with Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S21 tyres. Braking is done via Nissin-powered twin 310mm discs up front with a four-piston caliper and a 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard fitment.

The bike's fuel tank capacity is 16 litres. The GSX-S750 has a 215kg kerb weight – which is on the higher side. The GSX-R750 has impressed us on the race track, but its performance in real world conditions is something we shall find out, soon.

Concerning competition, the Suzuki GSX-S750 will lock horns with the Kawasaki Z900 (Rs 7.68 lakh), the Triumph Street Triple S (Rs 9.19 lakh) and the Yamaha MT-09 (Rs 9.55 lakh), all prices mentioned above are ex-showroom, Delhi.
