What engine does the Ducati Monster V2 use?
The Ducati Monster V2 is powered by a new 890cc, liquid-cooled V-twin engine producing 111hp at 9,000rpm and 91.1Nm at 7,250rpm – the same engine used in the Panigale V2, Streetfighter V2 and Multistrada V2. The engine features variable valve timing, which Ducati says allows 80 percent of peak torque to be available between 4,000 and 9,000rpm.

How does the Ducati Monster V2 compare to the older Monster 937?
The most significant change is the engine. The 890cc V2 replaces the 937cc unit and delivers identical peak power of 111hp, but torque drops slightly by 2Nm to 91.1Nm and now arrives 750rpm later in the rev range. The new monocoque chassis replaces the previous aluminium frame and helps shed 4kg from the kerb weight. The design returns to the bigger, more muscular tank look associated with older-generation Monsters, while the TFT display grows from 4.3 inches to 5 inches and the quickshifter has been updated.
