The TVS Apache RTR 160 4V price starts at Rs 1.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), and it hasn’t received a significant update since 2021. However, it holds its own as one of the sportiest and most capable motorcycles in the 160cc segment. Here are three reasons it’s worth considering, and two reasons you might want to look at other options.

Reasons to buy the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Impressive features list.

The Apache RTR 160 4V impresses with a feature-packed, fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, three riding modes and adjustable levers. It also comes with TVS' Glide Through Technology (GTT), which acts like a car’s creep function, enabling the bike to move at low speeds without throttle input.

Peppy engine.

The air- and oil-cooled 159.7cc single-cylinder engine on the RTR 160 4V delivers a class-leading 17.39hp and 14.73Nm. Its smooth, free-revving nature translates to predictable yet engaging performance, and you can comfortably maintain a 90-95kph cruise when you need to.

Engaging ride and handling.

The bike handles nicely thanks to a well-tuned suspension setup that balances comfort with sporty agility. It’s easy to ride quickly, leans into corners intuitively, and inspires confidence throughout.

Reasons to not buy the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V

Tight for taller riders.

The seating position on the Apache RTR 160 4V is not ideal for tall riders. If you're over 6 feet, you’ll find the ergonomics a bit cramped, mainly due to the high and rear-set footpegs. While this setup contributes to the bike’s sporty character, it can be uncomfortable on long rides, and in some cases, even be a dealbreaker.

Braking performance could be better.

On paper, the top-end RTR has decent braking hardware – a 270mm front disc, 240mm rear disc, and dual-channel ABS. However, our real-world tests found there’s room for improvement and that the bike would benefit from sharper brake bite and feel.
